Catch
me if you can!
Here is my very dodgy book! Potentially great fun. One day for the grandkids maybe or as a gift for a 21st? I use ebooks both for work and recreation. My ipad is wonderful for that but I also have a Kobo which I need to give to someone else as it was also really handy. The difference in views, backlighting and readers generally is quite amazing. EBooks have now become a regular part of everyday academic life some easier to navigate than others. Our subscription databases provide resources in all formats including ebooks and you can search by that format which is alos useful.
Thank-you for this Felicity. I have been pushed for time (aren't we all) but the resources you've mentioned will be invaluable, the skills I've learnt will either be forgotten or utilised to the max.
I'm going to get our group together and present to the wider staff I've been so impressed.
thank-you

Week 9 some more!
I've used Youtube Edu before for my work, but I hadn't heard of TedEd or TED for that matter. I can really see me using them both for content in info literacy sessions. Most useful. I've used You Tube to show me how to reseal my bath and how to dismantle a doorknob so these video sites are an excellent resource both personally and professionally.
Week 9

This site did it all for me! When I clicked on Share I chose Blogger (I had my blog open and it just created a new post! Very cool

week 8
OK searching! I too love google but this was an interesting exercise. I found that Twurdy gave me the most accurate results as my search was quite academic in focus 'Indigenous health in remote communities'. As far as the one I liked the most Blekko was up there, Qwiki appeared to have novelty value, Kngine only had an app for smart devices unless I was looking in the wrong place. Dewey digger I've used before to teach Dewey Decimal to mature aged students. Podscope has great specific value and Wolfram Alpha just annoyed me!
Some other suggestions 'Yummly' search engine for recipes/food and 'MapQuest' for maps.

Week 7
Check out the little presentation I made in Prezi

I'm quite certain that with time either software would be great for making presentations. I use an ipad and the app that prezi provides will be very useful.
I'm about to investigate slide rocket so we will see which I find easier to use. In slide rocket I imported an existing ppt. It gave me as much functionality as does Microsoft PPT so also will be useful for my ipad.
